Pokémon Pokopia Adds Limited-Time Bulbasaur Jump Rope Event

Chain jumps, earn rewards, compete with others

The Pokémon Company recently revealed a small limited-time event running from April 19 at 5:00 a.m. to April 26 at 4:59 a.m. (local time). Bulbasaur will host the first Jump Rope Contest just outside the Pokémon Center, where players can earn rewards based on performance, suggesting that higher chains will lead to better prizes.

Pokémon Pokopia has been topping the charts since its debut in March, and smaller events like this help keep the experience feeling fresh. Players can participate in other players’ worlds or on Cloud Islands, turning the event into a social competition. High scores are tracked per world, though only the host or top scorer walks away with prizes depending on the mode.

There is also a small progression gate tied to the event. Players will need to complete the “Yawn up a storm!” request in the Withered Wasteland before the contest becomes available.

These types of events are critical to the longevity of life simulation games like Pokémon Pokopia, as they create new reasons to return and engage with the game. Titles like Animal Crossing: New Horizons used similar rotating events, such as bug-catching and fishing tournaments, to keep players invested over time. If the rewards here feel meaningful, this event could set the tone for how future updates and expansions are handled.
