A complete classic RPG that fits naturally into Switch 2’s growing Bethesda lineup

Closing out today’s Nintendo Direct, Bethesda confirmed that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch 2.

While Bethesda stopped short of providing a firm release date, the game is currently slated for a broad 2026 launch window. Even without specifics, the announcement itself is notable. Oblivion Remastered represents one of Bethesda’s most beloved RPGs, and its arrival on Switch 2 further reinforces Nintendo’s push to attract deeper, legacy-driven third-party experiences.

Bethesda also confirmed that the remastered release will include the game’s story expansions, making this a complete package for both returning players and newcomers curious about one of the franchise’s most influential entries.

With three major Bethesda titles now confirmed for Switch 2, Nintendo’s next console is shaping up to be a surprisingly strong home for large-scale Western RPGs — even if some details are still being kept under wraps.

We know we’re excited to pick this title up, are you ready to dive back into Oblivion?
