Alongside valuable training items, this season will introduce Swampertite—a Mega Stone that cannot normally be obtained through standard gameplay—making Season 6 especially appealing for competitive players and collectors alike.

Ranked Battles Season 6 follows the release of the Pokémon Legends Z-A 2.0.1 update, which players must install in order to participate once the season goes live.
Ranked Battles Season 6 Overview
Shortly after the Pokémon Legends Z-A 2.0.1 update, The Pokémon Company revealed new details about Ranked Battles Season 6, offering Trainers a fresh opportunity to sharpen their skills in competitive online play.
Season 6 introduces new promotional rewards, including Swampertite, and is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 5:59 p.m. PST.

Mega Stones returning as promotional rewards for Ranked Battles Season 6 include:
- Greninjite
- Delphoxite
- Chesnaughtite
- Baxcalibrite
- Sceptileite
Pokémon Eligibility
Eligible Pokémon for Pokémon Legends Z-A Ranked Battles Season 6 include Lumiose Pokédex No. 1–232 and Hyperspace Pokédex No. 1–132. Regardless of the level of the Pokémon you’ve registered, all Pokémon will automatically be set to Level 50 during online battles.
Additionally, one of the following special Pokémon may be included on your team:
- Xerneas
- Yveltal
- Zygarde
- Mewtwo
- Kyogre
- Groudon
- Rayquaza
Held Item Rules
Pokémon are allowed to hold items during Ranked Battles; however, duplicate held items are not permitted on a team of three Pokémon.

How to Start a Ranked Battle
Once Ranked Battles Season 6 begins, you can start a ranked battle by following these steps:
- Launch Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
- Press the X Button to open the main menu.
- Select Link Play.
- Select Ranked Battles.
How to Receive Season Rewards
After completing at least one match—win or lose—during Season 6, players will be eligible to receive seasonal rewards.
To claim rewards after the season ends:
- Launch Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
- Press the X Button to open the main menu.
- Select Link Play.
- Select Ranked Battles.
Do you need the 2.0.1 update to play Ranked Battles Season 6?
Yes. Players must be on version 2.0.1 or later to access Ranked Battles Season 6 once it begins and to earn seasonal rewards.
