Former Nintendo of America president begins a new chapter following his 2025 retirement

Retiring at the end of 2025, Doug Bowser, President and COO of Nintendo of America, has joined the board of directors at toy manufacturer Hasbro.

Hasbro confirmed Bowser’s appointment in an official announcement, with Rich Stoddart, Chair of Hasbro’s Board of Directors, stating:

“We are delighted to have Doug and Carla join our seasoned and dynamic Board of Directors. Doug and Carla bring extensive leadership experience across consumer brands and franchise management. Their expertise and guidance will be invaluable as Hasbro continues to execute its long-term innovation and growth strategy.”

Meanwhile, Bowser’s successor at Nintendo of America, Devon Pritchard, made her first public appearance at the New York Game Awards, delivering a prerecorded message praising the event during its 15th annual ceremony.

With Bowser now working behind the scenes at Hasbro, it’s likely we won’t be seeing much of him publicly in the months—or years—ahead.

We wish you a happy retirement and all the best in your new role at Hasbro, Bowser!
