What’s on Your Gaming Backlog This Weekend?

It’s been a good week for Nintendo fans, which makes this an even better weekend now that most of us finally have a little more time to dive into the games we had to neglect during the week.

That’s what this series is for — let’s talk about the games we’re hoping to play.

Unfortunately, I’m not one of the lucky few getting hands-on time with the Pokémon Pokopia demo at EUIC in London. With the full release just a few weeks away, this feels like a bit of a waiting season. I’m filling the gap with other Nintendo games while the anticipation builds.

Mario Tennis Fever just launched, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. I shared my full thoughts in my review earlier this week, and my opinion is only getting stronger. I’m still unlocking characters and experimenting with the Fever Rackets, aiming to win the Star Tournament championship in doubles — though I’m starting to wonder if I chose the wrong racket combination. There’s more strategy here than I expected.

I’ve also been revisiting The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition. I mentioned it last weekend, but somehow I’ve never actually finished the main story. Progress is slow, but I’m loving this massive RPG — and I’m hoping to finally complete it before The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered releases later this year. Skyrim is one of those rare games that’s easy to return to, and it still holds up remarkably well on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

Which game are you finally finishing this weekend?
