Bethesda’s RPG arrival signals growing confidence in Switch 2’s long-form experiences
Bethesda is bringing Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition to Nintendo Switch 2, with a confirmed launch date of February 24, 2026.
Originally released in 2015, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is the most complete version of Bethesda’s open-world RPG, bundling the base game with all six official expansions. Its arrival on Switch 2 is notable not just because of the game’s size, but because it represents the kind of long-form, systems-heavy experience that previous Nintendo hardware often struggled to support.
This release feels like a confidence play — a chance for Bethesda to reintroduce one of its biggest RPGs on Nintendo’s more powerful new platform, without major compromises. For players who value portability and long sessions over cutting-edge visuals, Fallout 4 on Switch 2 could end up being a surprisingly natural fit.
Preorders for Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition will be available later today via the Switch 2 eShop.
