Bethesda’s Switch 2 reveal points to a stronger future for third-party games

With the added power of the Nintendo Switch 2, third-party support is finally starting to ramp up. During today’s Nintendo Direct, Bethesda confirmed release dates for several titles coming to the platform — but one reveal especially stood out to me.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is officially launching on Nintendo Switch 2 on May 12, 2026.

This is the kind of third-party release that actually makes the Switch 2’s hardware leap feel real. I’ve been itching to play this Indiana Jones adventure, and getting to experience it on Nintendo hardware makes it even more appealing.

While Bethesda hasn’t shared performance details yet, the fact that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is arriving as a native Switch 2 release speaks volumes about Nintendo’s new hardware ambitions. If this is the level of third-party support players can expect going forward, the Switch 2 may finally be positioned as a viable home for modern AAA adventures — not just scaled-down ports.

Are you looking forward to whipping up Indiana Jones’ big adventure on the Nintendo Switch 2?
