The post-Direct footage offers another charming look at the upcoming Nintendo and Illumination film
Earlier today, Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct that featured approximately five minutes of footage from The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which is set to release on April 1, 2026.
Following the presentation, Illumination and Nintendo weren’t done sharing new footage. An additional new clip from The Super Mario Galaxy Movie was released shortly after the Direct, giving fans another look at the upcoming film. You can watch the clip below—and I highly recommend sticking around until the very end.
The more I see of Yoshi in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the more I fall in love with him. The moment where he holds a Chain Chomp in his mouth is equal parts hysterical and adorable—and I love it.
With Nintendo continuing to roll out new footage ahead of the film’s release, it’s clear the studio is confident in what it has. If this latest clip is any indication, Yoshi may end up stealing the show when the movie hits theaters this spring.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated with any additional news here at The Input Lag.
